Pupil Premium

Pupil premium is additional funding given to schools to improve education outcomes for disadvantaged pupils in England.

Evidence shows that disadvantaged children generally face additional challenges in reaching their potential at school and often do not perform as well as other pupils.

The Pupil Premium is allocated to schools for:

  • Free School Meals- Pupils recorded in the school census who are known to have been eligible for free school meals since May 2013

  • LAC and Post-LAC – Pupils adopted from care or who have left care

  • Service Children- Pupils whose parents work in the armed forces
